GETTING STARTED

Whether you are building a new home, converting to propane or changing suppliers, Gaylord Gas/Petoskey Propane wants to be your company of choice. Gaylord Gas/Petoskey Propane has been serving northern Michigan for over 20 years. Our plants maintain state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that are operated by friendly, well-trained professionals.

EQUIPMENT
An installation by Gaylord Gas/Petoskey Propane does not require you to purchase the above ground propane tank, tank foundation or pressure regulators. We maintain this system from normal wear and tear.

TANK INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
For tanks over 125 gallons, the tank must be at least 10' from any building or property line.

The tank must be on firm, level ground and accessible within approximately 90' of our delivery truck.

The tank must be over 6' horizontal from a vertical plane from power lines over 600 volts.

BEFORE HOOKING UP THE GAS LINE

1. There must be sediment traps and shutoff valves at each gas appliance.
2. All inside gas piping must be completed, pressure tested and must extend 3" out from any exterior wall. The 3" stub must be 3' from any lower window or vent and 18" above grade if possible. If not, additional regulator venting is required. Do not locate stub where a deck will be built or where a concrete slab exists.
3. All gas appliances must be made for use with propane and vented into an approved chimney.
4. Electrical connections must be completed to all gas appliances and the thermostat must be connected to the furnace.
5. Underground wiring must be located and avoided. Call Miss Dig at 800-482-7171.

HOOKING UP THE GAS LINE
A line is trenched between the tank and the location where the pipe comes through the wall of the house at a minimum depth of 12".

The trench may be installed either by Gaylord Gas/Petoskey Propane or you can do it yourself. By digging and backfilling the trench yourself, you can save money. Call Miss Dig at 800-482-7171.

AUTOMATIC FILL SERVICE
Gaylord Gas/Petoskey Propane offers our "automatic fill service" to customers who do not want to worry about running out of gas. Our computers schedule your deliveries based on your consumption of gas in relation to the average outside temperature and anticipated usage. We calculate your deliveries to arrive when your tank gauge reads approximately 20%. All Easy Pay and Pre-Buy Club customers are set up on the automatic fill program.

WILL CALL SERVICE
Will Call deliveries occur only at the request of the customer. We urge all "will call" customers to call their service station when their gauge reads 20% at minimum.
